    owner operator Need advice

i am a driving a flatbed now and used to drive van. i am considering getting into buying  a truck. However there is a lot of stuff i don't understand like the surcharges, fuel deals and some of the other expenses. i am also wondering with the fuel prices if it is worth even trying to get involved with owning a truck. Also would like to know if it is better to sign on with a company or to try and get my own loads.

Sign on with someone first. Later on down the road look at doing it on your own.

Look into my company Sammons Trucking. They should be able to answer many of your questions or get you the information you need to help you make a decision on where to go. Sammonstruckimg.com

You're definitely better off signing on with a company to start off.  In times of high fuel prices companies have more clout at securing fuel surcharges.   However, you still have to examine your costs closely.   Don't let your company handle your truck insurance without securing some comparative quotes.  In this regard, I would recommend that you call my company 1st Guard 800-995-4827 for a quick quote on truck insurance.   Generally we're very competitive, and every penny counts these days.
